Weaver Family History
The Weaver family has been in homegrown, family agriculture for over 200 years. The Weaver Family Farm started in 1835 when Grandpa and Grandma built the barn as the first building on our farm. The Weaver family lived in the barn for one year before building their original and current farm house.
Dairy farming became their mainstay with naturally grown freezer beef and sweet corn as a
quality product on the side. We have had a sweet corn stand at the farm
since the early 1960's.
In the fall of 2004 we retired the dairy cows and expanded the farm stand with some vegetables. In 2006 we added raspberries and a high tunnel to lengthen our marketing season, and joined the Somerset County Farmers Market for our first time off the farm marketing experience.
In the year of 2007 we added strawberries and a small amount of watermelon.
We then continued expanding with the planting of blueberries in the spring of 2008 and have hopes of expanding our watermelon production.
In 2012 we added on an asparagus field and began to travel to more farmer's markets.
We attend markets in Richland on Tuesdays, Moxham on Thursdays, and Somerset on Saturdays. More information about these markets may be found on our market page and our Facebook page!
The slideshow below shows generations of customers and family members working to expand the farm that you now know as Grandma's Produce! Welcome to years of tradition and homegrown produce, from our family to yours!
